Pokemon It is in a restructuring stage. Unlike other franchises that need to be renewed to seek more income, Pokémom is at its best but it is time to change protagonists in the anime. While the games continue to sell on all consoles, the anime has made the decision to twist the plot.
At the end of 2022, Ash Ketchum managed to lift the world championship cup after more than 25 years of anime broadcast. Pikachu managed to land a hard hit on the head of Leon’s Charizard, but only one of them got up.
After this great achievement, The Pokémon Company made the decision that Ash’s path as a Pokémon trainer had come to an end and it was time to introduce new characters. On April 14 of this year, a new season will premiere with two other protagonists.
Liko and Rod are the two young trainers who will share their adventures in the following seasons. They will be accompanied by the three initial creatures of the Paldea region, which is inspired by Spain: Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxley.
First trailer of the anime without Ash Ketchum
Through YouTube, the production company shared the first preview of the April season. Liko has a mysterious pendant and is searching for an unknown item, while Rod is described as in trainer with the strange pokéball. It is a golden pokéball that has two points, one blue and one red.
Pikachu also returns to the anime, but not exactly the one that accompanied Ash, but Friede, the professor of the new story, will have a Pikachu with a captain’s hat.
It can be seen that the young protagonists attend school, unlike Ash who left home at a very young age to become a Pokémon trainer. The anime will premiere a one-hour special on April 14, 2023 on television in Japan.
