Throughout its long history, dragonball it has presented numerous elements that have generated confusion or that simply do not make sense, which makes us question how the universe created by Akira Toriyama works.
To cite just one recent example, Dragon Ball Super It cannot be considered canon due to the brutal changes that happened in the plot and that do not coincide with the epilogue of Dragon Ball Z, “End of Z”. This is just an example of what you are about to read below and that the community has been pointing out for several years. We doubt that Toriyama will take action on the matter, but let’s admit that so many mismatches are the charm of Dragon Ball.
Nonsense Dragon Ball Stuff
The logic of time: throughout the series, the concept of time can be confusing. There are times when strict limits are set, such as the time limit for being in the Spirit and Time room, but then those rules are broken without explanation. Also, time travel and timeline alterations can become difficult to follow.
Inconsistencies in power scales: in dragonball, the power levels are a fundamental part of the series, but sometimes there are inconsistencies in the scales. Characters previously considered invincible can easily be outclassed by weaker ones, leading to some confusion regarding the power hierarchy.
The death and resurrection of the characters: throughout the series, characters are killed and revived multiple times. Although death is presented as something serious, it is often made light of with the appearance of the Dragon Balls, capable of granting wishes and reviving the deceased. This reduces the emotional weight of the deaths and can generate a certain lack of meaning in the consequences of the actions.
Mergers and their limitations: In Dragon Ball, there are several fusion techniques that allow two or more characters to be combined into one. However, the rules and limitations of these mergers are not always clear and sometimes seem inconsistent. Some fusions are permanent, while others have a limited duration, which can be confusing for viewers.
The logic of powers and abilities: as the series progresses, the characters gain more and more amazing powers and abilities. However, sometimes these powers do not follow a coherent logic and can seem arbitrary. Sometimes new powers are introduced without a clear explanation or previously established rules are changed, which can be confusing for followers.
Endless fights and excessive transformations: sometimes the fights dragonball they seem to drag on unnecessarily, with entire episodes devoted to a single battle. Also, the transformations of the characters become more and more exaggerated and absurd, which can take the seriousness of the action scenes.
Lack of permanent consequences: On many occasions, the main characters of Dragon Ball face extremely dangerous and life-threatening situations. However, they are often miraculously saved without suffering any permanent consequences. This takes the tension and drama out of the plot, as viewers know that the main characters will always find a way to survive.
